Hibiscus

This is my favourite Hibiscus specie. I like the contrast between the deep red of the centre and the peach colour of the frilly petals with a tinge of pink between them. Unlike my other hibiscus plant, the flowers usually come singly and last for a day or two. The plant is scrawny and the leaves are not luxuriant. Nevertheless it is a delight to have in my backyard for the occasional flowering does brighten up the day.
