What is in a name? This flower is called the Singapore Rhododendendron but it is said not to be a rhododendrum and it is not found only in Singapore as it also thrives over an area that covers Madagascar, India and Australia. I don't think the flower cares whether Singapore owns it or not for it is God's creation for all to enjoy. So why can't we enjoy Chilli Crab, Laksa, Nasi Lemak, Hainanese Chicken Rice without having to listen to people bickering about which country owns them? 真的好无聊。

This plant is common in Singapore growing wild in the nature reserves or planted in the parks. Purple flowers are the common variety. I do not see the white flower variety very often.
