Flowers of the Coral Tree

Red is the colour of Chinese New Year. Red clothes and red decorations. Red packets and red everything. Seeing too much red is not good for the eyes. That is why flowers grow on trees and trees have leaves.

Flowers I saw

It is back to my Canon IXUS - better that than having none at all. The DSLR was too cumbersome and I only wanted to concentrate on my walk.

Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Rose Myrtle). Origin: China to India & S.E.Asia.

Calathea lutea. Origin: Tropical America.

Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Metallica'. Origin: East Indies.


Unknown to me. A ball of tiny flowers.

Today the urge to paint is strong but there is no time. Playing around with colours and other adjustments in my photo software is only a temporary means to feed my hunger for creativity. Good enough for now.
