Flowers I saw

It is back to my Canon IXUS - better that than having none at all. The DSLR was too cumbersome and I only wanted to concentrate on my walk.

Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Rose Myrtle). Origin: China to India & S.E.Asia.


Calathea lutea. Origin: Tropical America.

Alocasia macrorrhizos 'Metallica'. Origin: East Indies.


Unknown to me. A ball of tiny flowers.



Corymbia Ficifolia - Western Australian Flowering Gum.


Shrimp plant.


Alphelandra sinclairiana - Shrimp plant

Erythrina sp. (Coral Tree)

Euphorbia milii (Crown-of-thorns or Christ Plant). Origin: Madagascar.

Rhodomyrtus tomentosa

I am curious about these waist-high shrubs that I spotted growing at the side of the Changi Boardwalk next to the Civil Service Club. At first glance I thought it was the Singapore Rhododendron (Melastoma malabathricum) or Sendudok in Malay. On closer look and having taken enough photos I realised that they could be something else.
