Heliconia

Heliconia flowers are fascinating because of their brightly coloured bracts. Some grow upwards, some hang down and some grow sideways. This must be a very restless plant. When it blooms it has to make a strong presence as these did in the Singapore Bird Park.

My first heliconia painting, still incomplete and most likely will remain thus for good.

I tried but the cuttings did not survive. I guess I need to get the plant with roots intact. Always a next time!
